    Cottagecore Bedroom Decor Ideas

    April 24, 2025 by Beverly

    Spread the love

The cottage core bedroom trend has been popular for the last few years and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. The spaces look so warm and comforting – kind of like a big warm hug.  These spaces feel romantic, calming, and nostalgic. If you want to refresh your bedroom, here are some cottagecore bedroom décor ideas.

    Cottagecore Bedroom Must haves

When I think of the cottagecore aesthetic, I imagine picking flowers in the countryside and drinking tea from a dainty little tea cup while wearing a flowy dress. The design style was inspired by traditional European farm living and focuses on nature and tranquility. With that in mind, let’s look at some of the elements you should include in a cottagecore bedroom.

    Start With Soft, Layered Bedding

Cottagecore bedding shouldn’t be matchy-matchy. Think cozy quilts, ruffled shams, and light, lived-in linen. You could drape a vintage floral throw at the foot of the bed or mix in a couple of embroidered pillowcases. You want it to feel like something you’d sink into with a good book on a rainy afternoon.

    Embrace Nature

Since nature is at the heart of the cottagecore aesthetic, you’ll want to include some natural elements to your bedroom decor. This could include artwork with dried flowers or have them displayed in a thrifted ceramic vase. A houseplant with trailing vines dramatically displayed on a shelf over your bed or near a window is another cottagecore bedroom decor idea that will complete the space. You could also create an accent wall with floral wallpaper to bring the outdoors in.

Easy idea: Clip a few stems of rosemary or lavender and place them in a tiny vase on your nightstand. It’s simple and smells amazing.

    Choose Furniture With Character

In a cottagecore bedroom, nothing should feel too polished. Look for wood furniture with scuffs, chips, and dings – they add to the charm. Thrift stores, estate sales, and Facebook Marketplace are your best friends here.

But if you’re shopping new, go for pieces that have that weathered, heirloom feel.

    Add Handmade Touches

This is where the magic happens. Handmade or handmade-looking pieces like crocheted doilies, embroidered wall art, or hand-sewn curtains add soul to a space. Even if you’re not crafty, you can find these kinds of details on Etsy or at your local flea market.

    Keep Lighting Soft

Harsh overhead lighting? Not here. Cottagecore lighting is all about warmth. Use table lamps with pleated shades, wall sconces, or even string lights draped around a mirror or headboard. Candles, real or flameless, will add a dreamy flicker in the evenings and make the space feel calm and grounded.

    Incorporate Meaningful Decor

Decorating slowly over time is what makes cottagecore bedroom decor feel like so comforting. Instead of mass-produced wall art, go for pieces that tell a story like vintage oil paintings, pressed flowers, old books stacked bedside, or handwritten letters in frames.

Let It Feel a Little Imperfect

Don’t worry if your nightstand doesn’t match your bed frame or if your curtains are a bit wrinkled. The beauty is in the imperfection. It’s a style that gives you permission to slow down, curl up, and enjoy the little things.
