We have been busy around here! I think it’s the gloomy winter weather that has made me want to completely redo everything in my home. I want bright, I want color, I want interesting things to look at! So we’ve gone into full home project mode! First up – a broom closet DIY. Check it out –
Silly Little Closet Remodel
There is a closet in the laundry room that we refer to as the silly little closet because it is silly…and little. It was impossible to access it without first closing the laundry room door – and my 3-year-old can’t deal with me closing a door, so I would get hit in the head anytime I tried to open the silly little closet door. It’s also super narrow and really could only hold brooms and stuff like that. So, we decided to change it!

The door was the most annoying part of this closet, so we took it off! We placed it by our curb and someone came and picked it up by the end of the day. Curious – do people leave random stuff on the curb for anyone to take where you live? This is new to me, and I kind of love it!
I found some pretty wallpaper at the Anthropologie Outlet when I was visiting my parents in AZ. That store is amazing, and I could have bought everything in it. They were having a wallpaper sale when I was there and picked up this beautiful print for $25. It makes the perfect backdrop in the silly little closet. This was my first time working with peel-and-stick wallpaper, and I didn’t like it. I prefer the old-school glue and paper method, but after a little bit of frustration, it was up and the silly little closet was looking better already~
Next, my husband made some shelves out of _x_ cedar planks. He used his ___ saw to round the edges and applied a thick coat of linseed oil to give them a little bit of shine. We found some ____ at Home Depot and thought they would act as a nice contrast to the light wood, but not too distracting. Since I want to use this closet for my seed starts, we attached some grow lights to the bottoms of the shelves.

There it is – a simple DIY project that has transformed an unused part of our home into a place that feels intentional and fun. I only wish it were in a spot where we could see It more often!
Treasure Hunting
My actual work has been pretty slow this month, so instead of panicking, I’m using this slow time as an opportunity to do some of the extra things I’ve wanted to do but never have time for – like treasure hunting at the local thrift shops and antique stores. I have found a new favorite thrift store here in the Shoals and have been there three times in the last month. They have incredible prices and so much to choose from!
Coming Soon
We are in the process of removing the tiny bathtub in our primary bathroom and installing a walk in shower in its place. We have the supplies ready to go and are slowly working on getting this going. You will see the end result as soon as it’s done, but for now, here’s a sneak peak:

Favorite Things
I was gifted a bottle of Aunt Fannie’s Granite and Stone Cleaner and it is fantastic. It’s made naturally with no harsh chemicals which is great since I am trying to transition to cleaner products around the house. It also has a nice, light citrus scent which feels energizing and not overpowering. If you have stone or granite – I highly recommend this!
Life is coming back to our neighborhood. Daffodils have popped up all over the place and trees are starting to blossom. Spring will be here soon, and I cannot wait!
